Windows 10 May 2021 Update is the 11th feature update to Windows 10. As it is released in Semi-Annual Channel, it will be serviced for 18 months from its release date. If you’re on Version 2004 or 20H2, you can upgrade to Version 21H1 via enablement package.

What’s new in Windows 10 May 2021 Update?
New features added in Windows 10 Version 21H1
Here’s the list of new or updated features with Windows 10 May 2021 Update:
- Windows Defender Application Guard (WDAG) performance is improved with optimized document opening times. The problem causing a one minute or more delay when you open a Microsoft Defender Application Guard (WDAG) Office document is fixed now. If WDAG container is idle, still it is using around 1 GB working set memory, this problem is also fixed. Along with this, the performance of Robocopy is improved while copying larger files.
- Windows Hello multi-camera support is added, allowing users to choose an external camera priority when both external and internal Windows Hello-capable cameras are present.
- Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Group Policy Service (GPSVC) has a performance improvement to support remote work scenarios. An issue is fixed that caused changes by an Active Directory (AD) administrator to user or computer group memberships to propagate slowly.
- The new Microsoft Edge Chromium browser comes pre-installed.
- Version 21H1 turns off token binding by default in Windows Internet (WinINet).
- Version 21H1 updated the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Device Management (DM) sync protocol by adding a check-in reason for requests from the client to the server.
- In Version 21H1, Microsoft updated support for hole punch and stapling locations for print jobs with long edge first paper feed direction on certain printers.
- Microsoft added support for using the new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge as the assigned access single kiosk app in Version 21H1.
- Microsoft enhanced data loss prevention and insider risk management solution functionalities in Microsoft 365 endpoints with Version 21H1 or later.
- In Version 21H1, Microsoft improved the ability of the WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service to ignore invalid Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Protocol (WPAD) URLs that the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server returns.

Features removed in Windows 10 Version 21H1
Here is the list of feature removed with Windows 10 May 2021 Update:
- The legacy Microsoft Edge browser is no longer supported/available in Windows 10.
- Support for Windows 2000 Display Driver Model (XDDM) based remote display drivers is removed.
