Windows Media Player has been active part of Windows family since long time. Though there are tons of third-party competitive multimedia players available for Windows, but none of them could take place of this built-in player. The reason why users gives it highest priority is its simplicity and stability. The other players available to you may have lots of options to offer, but they lags when it comes perfect stability.
However, if your system music or video library is not according to what Windows Media Player needs, you may face weird issues with it. Generally in such scenarios, it will crash intermittently with following message:

Works good for Windows 10 Ent
^^ Glad it worked! :)
I tried the troubleshooter which ran exactly as you stated, but it did not solve the problem. Windows Media Player continues to stop working, even if I just start it and let it sit open. It’s like it times out and crashes. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks.
Tom
^^ Please also try other Windows Player troubleshooters listed there, see if something helps :)

Still media player not work.. it shows Media library is corrupted..
Boy for a minute there I figured the Social Engineering OS people decided to behave, no this did not work, it was taken out by Microsoft or one of its paying cronies with an update and won’t be fixed so easily.
Hi. My pc suddenly decided that it was no longer gonna allow me the joy watching of media…of any sort. I can’t use any of my media players (they just shut down and freeze up ). I thought at least I can stream, but no. I cant watch youtube. I can’t even play my solitaire cause it uses flash I’m assuming. Another odd factor is that I was watching a movie just an hour or so before I noticed all this. Help
And yeah, I’m running Windows 10 on a near new Acer PC (I bought it new in mid January),
^^ Have you tried troubleshooter? Did it found and fixed anything?
Yes I the troubleshooter. Unfortunately it was no help,
Thanks for your help and time, but my issue seems to have corrected itself with a simple reboot.
^^ That’s the perfect news this morning 😊
My computer goes from Apply This Fix to the Media Library is corrupted immediately, but it doesn’t fix anything. Also my configuration settings might be set incorrectly, but applying the fix for that is also immediate and doesn’t change anything.
Dear Kapil, I have had this issue for so long and have tried everything and anything. But finally this worked! Thanks you do much, I am very grateful!!!
^^ Thanks a lot Danny for your feedback 😊
I have a major problem with Windows Media Player 12 not working in Windows 10. Is it my PC and its data that needs to be backed up to drive and then cleared out to remedy this situation or a possible chore of file-scanning/troubleshooting? If so, how can this problem be sorted as it is a major one that happened out of the sudden? Any thoughts please.
How do you fix WMP 12’s settings problem (configuration settings might be set incorrectly) shown by a yellow triangle? Is the answer to back up and reinstall all or download one of Microsoft’s Fix-it troubleshooters to fix this painful issue? Could Windows 10 have gone crazy with their update and broke the once-working player (even though it was never used) or will their update fix it? If so, what do you think? Hope someone figures this out and sorts it soon.
Thank you Windows 10 for fixing this issue at last, it drove me nuts, but thank you for fixing both Groove and WMP 12 as today’s newest update sorted the crashes that were previously caused, but thank you for fixing the crashes as both players work again. I am happy again and eternally grateful you fixed both of my music players. Thanks W10 I love you. :)
^^ That’s great news, Kalon 😊
