Microsoft is adding new features to Windows 11 regularly. If you are trying out latest Windows Insider Preview Builds, you will be able to try out those features. In this article, we will see how you can enable a new feature called Suggested actions in Windows 11. Microsoft added Suggested actions to Windows 11 in Build 25115 or later.
With this new feature, Microsoft wants to make your work quicker using inline suggested actions. When you copy a date, time, or phone number, Windows will suggest actions relevant to you such as creating calendar events or making phone calls with your favorite apps.
If Suggested Action is enabled, you will observe following behavior:
When you have apps that offers calling functionality, and you copy a phone number then an inline light dismissible UI appears that suggest ways to call through Teams or other apps that supports this feature. You can check this in screenshot below.

Similarly, upon copying a date and/or time, Windows will pop up an inline light dismissible UI that suggests creating the event using supported calendar apps.
Here’s how you can enable Suggested Actions.
Enable Suggested Actions in Windows 11
Method 1 – Using Settings app
1. Press + I keys to open Settings app.
2. In Settings app, go to System > Clipboard.
3. Under Clipboard, look for Suggested actions. Turn On the respective option to enable the feature. Note that suggested actions is turned On by default in Windows 11, but in case if it is not On, you can use this tab to enable it.
4. You can now close Settings app. The changes should be applied with immediate effect.
Method 2 – Using Registry
1. Run regedit
command to open Registry Editor.
2. In left pane of Registry Editor window, navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SmartActionPlatform\SmartClipboard
3. In the right pane of SmartClipboard registry key, create a registry DWORD named Disabled and set it’s Value data 0. If you ever want to disable the feature, set the Value data to 1 in that case.
4. Close Registry Editor, sign out and sign in back to make changes effective.
