With the newly announced Windows 11 operating system, you will find many visual changes on the screen. As of this writing, you can try Windows 11 preview build on your Windows 10 eligible system. With Windows 11, one change that will definitely grab your attention is alignment of taskbar to centre. In earlier version of Windows, you have always find the taskbar aligned to the left part of the screen. But with Windows 11, by default, you will find taskbar aligned to centre of the screen. In this article, we will see how to change taskbar alignment in Windows 11.
As you can see in the screenshot shown below, the taskbar alignment is in the centre of screen on a Windows 11 system.
You can try either of the methods mentioned below to change taskbar alignment to left.

Change taskbar alignment in Windows 11
Method 1 – Using Settings app
You can easily change taskbar alignment in Windows 11 using below mentioned steps.
Right click on taskbar and select Taskbar settings. Alternatively, you can open Settings app and go to Personalisation > Taskbar.
Next, under Taskbar settings, click on Taskbar behaviors. Set the Taskbar alignment drop-down to Left from Centre (default).
As soon as you do that, you will find the changes reflect immediately on taskbar. In the below screenshot you can see that taskbar alignment is now left.
You can now close Settings app and returned to your work.
Method 2 – Using Registry Editor
1. Press + R and type regedit
in Run dialog box. Click OK or press Enter key.
2. In left pane of Registry Editor window, navigate to following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
3. In the right pane of Advanced registry key, you’ll find TaskbarAI named registry DWORD (REG_DWORD). Its Value data should be set to 1 by default and it means that task bar alignment is centre. To change the taskbar alignment to left, set it to 0.
4. Close Registry Editor and restart Explorer process in Task Manager to make changes effective.
