Microsoft introduced Paint 3D app in the latest Creators Update or Windows 10 V1703. Since then, the ability to open edit images in classic Paint program using right click context menu is lost. The regular Paint program is quite easy to use and is of prime choice for image editing, even for the power Windows users. Following above mentioned guide, when you enable classic Paint program, you’ll find the Edit with Paint 3D and Edit option defaults to Paint program.
Thus in this case, Edit with Paint 3D option on the context menu is of no use now. So you might want to remove it to compress the image context menu. In this article, we’ll show you how to remove this option using simple registry manipulation.

Registry Disclaimer: The further steps will involve registry manipulation. Making mistakes while manipulating registry could affect your system adversely. So be careful while editing registry entries and create a System Restore point first.
1. Press + R and put regedit in Run dialog box to open Registry Editor (if you’re not familiar with Registry Editor, then click here). Click OK.
2. In left pane of Registry Editor window, navigate to following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\SystemFileAssociations\.png\Shell\3D Edit
3. Right click on 3D Edit registry key and select Delete. Confirm this operation by clicking Yes here:
4. Also delete 3D Edit registry keys in the similar way, at following registry locations as well:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.3mf\Shell\3D Edit
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.bmp\Shell\3D Edit

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.gif\Shell\3D Edit
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.jfif\Shell\3D Edit
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.jpe\Shell\3D Edit
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.jpeg\Shell\3D Edit
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.jpg\Shell\3D Edit

Sign out, sign-in and you’ll find that Edit with Paint 3D option is no longer available in image right click context menu.
