[FIX] Activation Failed Because This Device Doesn’t Have A Valid Digital Entitlement Or Product Key. Error Code: 0x803F7001

Thanks Kapil, I have upgraded and activated windows 10 from windows 7 on launch day. After using windows 10 without any hiccups a=or changing any hardware of my machine received error code you have mentioned. in the panic state contacted Microsoft support and they advised me to install windows 7 first with my old key and then upgrade to 10. That is very troublesome process. Then came across your post and voila it worked. Thank you very much kapil.

It didn’t work for me. After i put in the previous key from windows 7 (SLP license) key I got another error: “The product key you entered didn’t work. Check the product key and try again, or enter a different one. Error Code: 0x80041024”. The previous installation was Windows 7 Home premium and it shows Activated status previous to running the upgrade. In theory, even if the previous license on the computer is an SLP key from an OEM, that license and version qualify for the free upgrade so I shouldn’t need to be dealing with these activation issues. It should have happened automatically. the windows 10 version installed was windows 10 home, 32 bit, the exact one that would correspond to the upgrade (from Windows 7 32 bit home premium).

I installed Win10 over Win7 on a fresh Dell, when I took an image using Acronis and deployed it to another unit (same model) and ran into this error. Your tips and the Win7 key on the computer worked!

I wonder where these keys were produced from. I also wonder if this isn’t some nefarious work around to take control of my compy. Someone is on the other end of those keys. Anyway, I guess it worked so… \tosses computer into ocean\

Y`have windows 7 and Y install windows 10 Pro free (with key from internet). Sow windows 10 was working 2 days OK. When Y changes a Country (Europe) and when Y uninstall skype (to many problem with skype..) before the end of uninstalling skype, (no electric power) and when Y start windows don`t wont to open-screen is black and computer work widaut-windows. What to do, to go back in windows 7 ore to tray with windows 10 (free-but the key is not free-genuine.?) Please for help.(simple)

Thanks for referring me to this link when i asked for help on a previous one i tried the tutorial again i tried with all keys you provided well i have the same issue as “JAN” has, i got it pre installed onto my computer and it didnt come with key instead it had recovery to windows 7, mine is a MSI and the windows 7 was Geniune one what should i do ??

Kapil, bro ,, windows 8.1 was pre installed in my laptop,, I hated windows 8, I formatted C: and installed windows 10, and activation is all gone, its not activated. man tell me the solution..

This did not work, I typed in the win10 home key you listed, then typed in my genuine win8 product key and it did not work, got error message 0x803fa071 = this product key is being used on another computer. wht do I do now? I know I have a genuine product key but it does not work…!

I paid for a Win 7 Home Prem OEM in 2013 for a new build. This was upgraded to Win 10 Home in 2016. I did not sign up to a MS account.
Last month my mobo failed. So, I’ve installed a new one. (Ironically, the first one, Gigabyte Ultra Durable four-years old, failed after about 20 attempts to upgrade to 1709 version with Memory Stop Codes, On gurus’ advice,, that led to me removing all components and re-seating them. Result – dead mobo, which may have had problems anyway. Even more ironically, the same problems continue.)
Innocently, I just bought a new mobo which was available and fitted my needs I didn’t cross my mind that it might matter if it were a different model.
I’ve been on to the Win Activation service. The first guy confirmed that my Win 7 License Code was valid. He passed me to a second guy, who said I could activate for $30. Strange, I thought, but when I queried it, he just hung up. Perhaps I’d got a scammer’s phone number?
I suppose the basic question is: if I do buy another mobo of exactly the same model, (I can buy one pulled from a working machine), would I be able to activate my Windows?

Hello, I recently moved my hard drive to a new computer, and all of a sudden I have to acitivate it, I’ve tried using the product key on the bottom of the laptop, still nothing, just keeps saying my liecence is not valid. I’ve tried about everything.
